    reptile shows

Does anyone know how much breeders generally charge for snakes at shows, especially spider ball pythons or bumble bees? Thanks!

I used to think shows were cheap, but all these videos people are posting and pictures shows bps, and other reptiles for a very shiney penny. Given those are east coast shows, which i have never been too.

I haven't seen much of a price difference (only been to the Manchester, NH show 3 times). Only thing would be the shipping cost you are saving. Some tables have good deals occasionally but usually only if they have an abundance of snakes they want to move. Other shows could be different though.

I would be going to the Raleigh, North Carolina show in May. Hopefully there will be something good there!?!

Although I haven't been to an NARBC show yet, I would expect the pricing is pretty much what you would find on the breeder's website, less shipping. I do know that there are smaller local reptile 'swaps' (at least here in Illinois) where you might find better deals for more plentiful morphs and normals, but prices are about the same for the more desirable and rarer morphs. Again, I'm relatively new to this, but I've spent the last 3 months researching just this topic.

    Re: reptile shows

If you go to a show looking for the best snake you can buy for the lowest price, you may be able to find it on the last afternoon of the show. Many breeders do not want to haul their "inventory" back to their property and some therefore sell their snakes at a reduced price.

Now, the better snakes (higher quality, etc.) at a reasonable price usually sell early in a show - sometimes before the doors even open to the public.

It really depends on what you are looking for . . . . Good luck!

Thank you, I think I am going the second day of the show, but we are leaving early early to get there when it opens and were are staying for the whole day, I think, so hopefully there will still be some quality morphs left! Thanks for the info!

    Re: reptile shows

I would say, as a precaution, before you go to the show find out a reasonable price range for whatever you are in the market for. It's easy to get sucked into a bad deal when you're holding the animal in your hands. I was a bit unprepared at my last show, and next month when I drive out to New York I'm going to do some research beforehand.
