    Question about incubator

I have a 1250R incubator from GQF MFG (www.GQFMFG.com). It is basically the same as the 1550R but came with wafer type T-stats that I replaced with Ranco type.

I built an elaborate rack system with a special place for the incubator. I fired up the incubator and the tubs throughout the rack have a slight vibration.

    1. I believe this is not acceptable for the rack as snakes use vibration for hunting and such and a constant vibration like this could stress them out. Am I correct?

    2. Will a vibration like this affect the eggs that are incubating inside the incubator?

Here you can see a picture of the incubator in the rack I built.

    Re: Question about incubator

I have a GQF incubator as well. I don't know what to tell you about your other snakes and the vibration, but it did not seem to affect my hatchlings at all.

    Re: Question about incubator

I would be curious why it is vibrating...what is causing it and how bad is it? Looking at your setup you could aways stuff foam rubber (like packing foam) between the incubator and the cabinet around it...that would help to lessen the vibration.

    Hope this helps

    Re: Question about incubator

Well I put a different fan in the incubator and it settled out really good. Only problem is it is not a sealed motor so I do not know how long it will last in the humidity!
