    Breeder in Atlanta?

I'm not sure if this should go here or in General, but I'm trying to find a breeder in Atlanta. I want to buy a baby but would prefer to see him before I buy. So far the only place I've found in the city with normal babies is Petco, and I've heard only bad things about them, so I'd rather find a local breeder.
If not, I guess I could look into online breeders, although most of them are just selling morphs, which doesn't seem like a good idea for a first time snake owner...
    Thanks!

thanks! That's a start anyway (I'm obviously new to the boards, so I don't know much!)

I would definitely prefer a baby...gender doesn't really matter although for the same price I'd go with a female.

    Re: Breeder in Atlanta?

I live in Atlanta as well! But I actually purchased a ball from J&J Reptiles over the Internet. They were super nice over the phone and answered all my (tons) of questions without making me feel like they couldn't wait to hang up on me! They were wonderful.

As a fellow Atlantian, I do implore you not to support the Petco, PetSmart, etc. types. I have been to a few PetSmarts in Atlanta doing volunteer work with adoptions for cats and dogs, and I always check on the herps. Their BPs are in the most horrible conditions! 2-3 to a tank and all the size around as a pinkie finger. I am afraid you might get involved with a sick snake that won't eat and it might not be the best experience for you. Moreover, it would only reward them for keeping their animals so poorly and overcharging for the poor things.

There is a herp show going on in October but I realize you may not want to wait that long! I am planning on going to it though. Should be better than the Repticon that I went to March 1...which was less than I expected to say the least.

Yeah, I wouldn't advise anyone to go to a Repticon unless its under 15 minutes away.

I probably will go to the show, but I would prefer to get one sooner than later
I'm afraid I'm getting pretty into the whole scene without even owning one yet! (I have wanted a snake for several years, but only in the last month or two I started getting serious about it)
Who knows- six months from now I may need another new snake!

That's fantastic. I live in Alabama, but it's only about a 3 hour drive for me to Atlanta, and i'd like to be there for that.

Do you know anything about the Dixie Reptile Show in Birmingham? I don't have a setup yet, so I probably won't be ready for this weekend hehe, but I was thinking about going in April if it seemed like it would be any good.

Randy you know I am not a breeder , and that this year is my first year breeding.

soy.lor.n if you are looking for a breeder try Justin Kobylka http://www.jkobylkareptiles.com/ he is a member here and also try Albey http://www.albeysreptiles.com/ who is also a member here.

Also do not limit yourself to GA, even if normal BP are not avertised on breeder's website it does not mean that they do not have them.
