    Gravid?

What is a good indication that my female just did her pre-lay shed? She has been with the same male for well over a month now(other than the times he's out for a break, or to feed), and my female has been refusing food, getting more girthy (but somehow losing weight), and soaking constantly in the water. Today she shed for the first time in a while, however her color didn't change that much, as a matter of fact if anything she got darker not lighter. Any help on this subject would be much appreciated. This is my first time breeding ball pythons so i'm really new at it, and even though i've done tons of reading I can still be ignorant about it.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Gravid?

Would honestly guess that she has just gone thru her pre ovulation shed. Its possible that you missed an ovulation but still seems pretty early for that. Would try to palpate her and if she doesnt feel pretty hard and miserable then would say its definately not her prelay shed. Sorry i cant be tons of help but this is my first year and am experiencing my pre lay shed as we speak and doesnt sound to me what i have experienced.
