Can you open his mouth with a toothpick and grab it with tweezers? Be very carefull though. If its just a small piece though he should be able to pass it later on.

It's a thin piece but it's kinda long and right along his jawline.

Relax those are softer then they look .He should be fine or maybe you can gently grab it if he will allow you to.

It's preventing him from closing his mouth so I'm running him to the vet.

That happened to me to before I switched to the shop towel liners, I used a pair of hemostats (like giant tweezers) to grab the peice of substrate. The vet can get it out for you, but if your gona take him out of the tank, odds are you can grab the piece yourself. If your worried about hurting him than off to the vet you go Good luck!

Yes ditto. I do the same. After the first feeding and seeing the aspen stick to the food.NO way not again.
So he goes in a diffrent tub and is fed.
Plus as a bonus he has learned that feeding time is here when he is in there and it helps me clean his tank while he digests food.

Just last night he had a big feeding of 3 mice.. hungry lil guy..
Plus no worries on eating anything else but his food.

    Good luck keep us posted
