    Heating/feeding Advice/Questions

So, I have a 20 long aquarium set-up. It's a newbie thing to do, but we bought the snake start up kit at the advice of the guy working at our local pet store. He owns a few bps and seemed to know what he was talking about. After reading a bit I'm not terribly sure if the set up is perfect.

Our house is cold, so at present I've got the two lamps it came with(one night, one day) and a side heat pad running to get the temps up. It's at about 80 on the warm side now and I'm trying to get it up higher without sacrificing humidity(currently at 60%). We're adding a second hide and My question was weather or not we should have the water bowl between the hides, at the cold end, or at the warm end.

Secondly, he ate like a champ today. Struck the F/T mouse within a few seconds of it being near him. Despite our trouble with temps, I would assume this is a sign of him being fairly comfortable. He's 19 inches long and almost as big around as a small rat. The pet store told me to feed him two small mice, or one rat. Does this sound appropriate?

Anyway... thanks for your help and I'll try and post pics soon.

Here is a great care sheet for glass tank enclosures: http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=56846 As for the water bowl, if you move it to the warmer side it will help to increase your humidity!
