those who have a CB-70 rack setup

Just got this from Rich at RBI and it is a totally different configuration than what I was using before so I am wondering if I could get any tips from people already using it.

I am currently using Sterilite tubs that are clear so I can see my Accu Rite to monitor warm/cool side temps. The CB-70 only has the front visible and it is pretty deep so I am wondering if people are using the Accu on the outside and just monitoring the warm side (via probe)?

Any other humidity/temp tips would be welcome. The tubs are much bigger than I expected and not very tall at all so it's going to be a while before my bp's can actually use them but I would like to have the husbandry dialed in before actually acclimating them.

    Thanks for any help!

Re: those who have a CB-70 rack setup

I have the cb-70 tubs for my big girls. I just use a temp gun to spot check temps. I find that when I heat the room to 82 it helps keep the temps stable. The cb-70's are long tubs, so the heat tape has a bit of an issue keeping the cool side warm enough...

You can still use your accurite the same way... place the probe in the warm end and the body at the front of the tub, but still inside. You should be able to see it just fine.

This rack is run off of two separate strips of 4" flexwatt. You can run them both in the same thermostat or run each in its own thermostat to play with the temps more. I use a 4" water bowl at the cool end of the tubs and mist when the snakes are in shed. Everything seems just fine.

I was concerned about the flexwatt hitting the cool side as well...I guess it will take some troubleshooting to get everything right. I have a heatgun, but I definitely like having the accu-rite in a visible location.

    thanks again
