    Not Hiding?

My BCI baby doesn't seem to want to use her hide box at all. I've heard that adults don't even need a hide because they rarely use it, is this true for the babies as well? She seems perfectly happy to perch on a branch all day, so I've had to put a heat light on her cage since she seems determined to ignore the floor of the cage and the undertank heater that goes along with it.

are you sure the temps are all set? It may be trying to escape heat by getting higher.

Also sometimes the babies just tend to be more arboreal. As long as it's settled and eating and growing and has proper heat and set up, I wouldn't worry

Mine did not use it for a while but after a feed he went straight to it. How big is your hide? I made my temp hide using a Scotch box about twice as big as the snake with a hole in one end. He seems to like getting in there and poking his head out to look around. I have a pearch as well but he does not like to sit up on it.

Yup, temps and humidity are fine. The hide box might be a little big for her, could that be why? She's teensy so when she's curled up her sides don't touch the sides of the hide. I know BPs like to be pretty much crammed into their hide, but hadn't heard the same for boas.
