    New Idea "review" of SnakeBytesTV

I knew when I decided to put out a series about our lives as reptiles breeders that I would take some abuse about things here and there. For the most part it's been really possitive feedback, which I appreciate. There have been the occasional bashing going on about me feeding live or not useing tongs. I understand where those people are coming from, but we ARE edutaining (educating while entertaining) and most people want to see this kind of stuff.
I figured that I would put up a review on the SnakeBytesTV site for people to bash us or tell us what they like. Melissa Flipski is the first of the "critics" that tells us what she likes and what she doesn't like. It's an open invetation to anyone that would like to be honest about their views. Send them to bhb@comcast.net. If it's a well thought out review, good or bad, we'll post it. It will only help the show get better. I'm not looking for a love fest or a hate fest for that matter, just an honest review. We'll take it to heart and try our best to fix the "problems" that we've made along the way. Remember we're learning as we go too, we can use your help. You have to think of it from a viewers standpoint, not a die hard reptile persons stand point. So let's have it!
You can checkout the first "review" on my blog until it's up on the site in the next couple of days under "reviewers corner". Let me know what you think. Thanks again for everyones support!! Brian(BHB)

i think you are way to kind. i think when people start producing and having as many animals as you have then they can say what ever they want and it should stick. a lot of people that criticize you and others over feeding practices read what they know out of books and not from practicality or actual real world understanding. They are all over these forums and I think the best practices are set forth buy the senior members here and they just sort of sit back and "watch the fur fly". In this wonderful world of keeping ball pythons or any snake for this matter, when you have a lot of them you learn different things from each one. I have a small collection of 10 now and I seem to see or learn something new everyday that was not "in the book". So I just tend to let people say what they want to other people and keep my nose out of it now but I think when you are as big as you are and expose your self to all these people, new people and old breeders, you are going to get that kind of mini back lash. I think that it is great that you are throwing people a line but you are far to kind but that is probably made you what you are today, successful.

I agree with Fl00d...most of these "haters" are noobs. Unless they've produced 1000 or so animals and actually have some experience under their belt, they don't have much right to start bashing professionals like you.

Keep up the good work, Brian. My only disappointment with the shows is that they're only 6 minutes long. But its still a very exciting 6 minutes!

Pfft. You, Lori and the folks at BHB have so much experience with reptiles in general and your animals specifically and you've found what works for you.

Reminds of what the Barkers wrote in their book...research, experiment and find what works for you.

Thanks for everyones support, I have thick skin and I know not everyone's going to like everything we do. That being said it's also important to learn from the people on this forum what works. We want this to be a huge spark for the hobby, so I can take the good with the bad. We'll never make everyone happy, but if we keep getting better we can refine the project.
I'm heading out to Brent Burns's place in a couple hours to hang with the coolest hockey player out there! He loves this forum and by time I leave to head home in a few days I'll make sure he doesn't even remember the name of that ****snake.com forum.lol
We'll be rolling cameras while we're there, so I hope to get some great footage for a future show. Thanks again for the support!! Brian(BHB)
