    new rack set up question

I just want to say what a great forum this is, I just joined a few days ago, but have read tons of great info that has helped me care for my snakes.
I just built myself a rack and am in the process of ordering a thermostat and heat tape. I have a few questions.

    1. I have a ball and a corn snake, since I ordered the basic herpstat I dont have the option of seperate temp. controls. Is the best way to accomidate the corn to move his tub a certain distance away from the tape till I get the right temp?
    2. Is a night drop neccessary, or only needed when breeding snakes.

My ball is about 200g is a 23 qt. tub too big for him?
Thanks alot, Im happy to be on the forum

Re: new rack set up question

shoot i have a 500g female living in a 15qt bin and shes happy as a clam.. i think that might be a bit big but as long as temps are perfect and the animal continues eating you *might* be ok.. as for the corn, i have no idea. good luck and welcome
