question about herpstat II or pro

I'm looking into geting a herpstat. I haven't decided if im gonna get the II or the pro yet. Here's my question are the outlets that you plug the heat tape into grounded? What I wanna do is plug a power strip in to one of the outlets and run my 5 vision cage out of one outlet. There all the same cages with the same lenght of heat tape. The total length of the tape does not exced the wattage for one side of either model.

The outlets aren't required to be grounded if that is what you ae asking.

They make a power strips without grounds. They just don't have the surge protection. Also they make little adapters that eliminate the ground plug. If grounding is an issue you can run external ground wires. Heat pads and strips generally do not have a ground.

If I were choosing between Herpstat II and the Pro I would go with the Pro. For around an extra hundred bucks you double the capability of the Herpstat II.

If you're insisting on using the power strip that requires a ground to allow power to it's outlets, then the herpstat is not for you. I have 4 pros and I love them, but the outlets for the heat source to plug into and the plug for the herpstat itself are all two prong. I have to use adaptors for all my racks.
