tank
do you guys think a tank thats 4'x2'x2' is to big for 2 bp's i got them together and when i seperate them they wont eat. so i keep them together they seem happier, but i was wondering if you think the tank is to big and i was also thinking of maybe getting another snake what type would you guys suggest. i want to get something that will grow to at least 8 ft or around there. i do live in mass tho and i dont know if there are any restrictions.

Re: tank
You should read this thread, it is a lot of back and forth and shows just how debated that subject is.
http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=61251
And it all starts at page 3
For a beginner to keeping ball pythons, I think a 4 x 2 x 2 is too large and hard to maintain proper climate control and cleanliness while offering too little chances of being able to accurately identify when the snake(s) are ill or in need.
One snake in one cage.

Re: tank
one cage or tub per snake.
I have a reptile cage (not a tank) for a large female ball and it is 3x2x1; I would not ever go larger for a ball python.
As for what you might want to get next, I would suggest that you start with research: learn about the reptiles with whom we share this planet and zero in on what strikes your fancy!

Re: tank
Definitely agree with having only one animal per enclosure. Get a couple of tubs. They are easy to maintain temps and humidity in and inexpensive to replace when they need something larger. BP's in general are not "display" snakes as happy ones hide most of the time. I don't think it's worth the risk of housing together...just my .02

Re: tank
1 snake 1 tank.... i use 4x2 for my big females. For males I plan on building 3x2 cages as theyre usually smaller than females. Either way you shouldnt be using these size cages unless your snake is large.... either way no cage is big enough for 2 snakes.... 1 snake 1 tub
