Hmph! MIA!
So I get home from work yesterday and check on everyone and what do you know, Lex is gone. I put her in a sliding drawer container thing because she went to the bathroom in her tub and I didnt have time to clean it the day before. Well either I didnt completely close it or shes stronger than I thought. She goes into the container all the time when I clean out her tub and it used to be her feeding place til I started feeding them in there tubs. It was cracked open. My reptile room is also a storage room. About 1/3 of it has stuff stacked on top of each other behind 55 gallon plant vivarium and all my snakes so in order to search I have to take all that completely out of the room and it could take an entire day to move everything. I searched the easier places she could be, no luck of course. Since the most of the room is at least 80 I dont think a heated area will work to well so Im thinking of setting out a container with a rat pup in it where she can go into it but cant get back out. Otherwise I dont think I can do a really good search for her til this weekend sometime.

When you do start searching, do it systematically. Start at the place she got out and work outwards from there. Look in EVERY box, and everyplace she could possibly hide in, even if you think it's too small. They can squeeze themselves into the smallest areas, you'll be surprised.
Check every box, even if you think she couldn't have gotten inside. When I went searching for my juvie Centralian carpet, I found her inside a box stacked on top of other boxes. I never would have thought she could get that high up, but she did.
Good luck in your search. It sounds like the area is relatively contained so I'm sure you'll find her!

check and double check every tight place that's near the enclosure. I've had a few escapees and they always show up in the most unexpected place...somewhere next to the enclosure

Re: Hmph! MIA!
The thing that sux the most is all my tubs are in the very middle of the room and theres places to hide in every direction. Ive gotten pretty good at finding lost snakes I guess. Before I switched to tubs in the reptile room I had escapes all the time with her. She is definately my escaped artist.Ive had one other snake get out once like a year ago I guess and shes gotten out maybe a dozen times, but not once in her new tub, always something else. Ive found her wedged between cushions on the couch, under the dryer, on her way behind the fridge (glad I got her first cuz my fridge is not easy to squeeze out), inside a pvc pipe, and once under my dogs bed while he was sleeping.
My gf doesnt know how I always find her, She looks in the obvious places and I usually skip those first. I try to think like they do and usually works like a charm

I hope you find her quicky and she is safe! I know the first time that Foster gets out, will be the last because we will have to get rid of her.
We have a 20L tank and put a padlock on the front all the time, just as a double check to make sure the tank is completely closed. But, it still worries me that she will get out.
GOOD LUCK!

Re: Hmph! MIA!
Found her! She wasnt more than a 1 1/2ft away from the tub but in the most difficult place for me to get to. She was wedged between a love seat and a chair on top of it, but on top of that there was a big tv and an old a/c unit. Just in time too, her skin was comepletely cloudy, this morning it was clear, so hopefully around the time I get home shell be done shedding.
