Is it odd to want a Snappy snake?
For some reason I want a mean snake. Im thinking it would be exciting even if I did get the c*** bit outta me. Anyone else feel this way?

Well, I prefer docile snakes, but I've ended up with a few finger munchers, and I love them anyway. They keep you on your toes, and its always 'exciting' when you open that cage door. lol I appreciate snakes of all temperaments I guess is what I'm trying to say.

I dont think its too odd ((( ))). I kept the docile group for a couple of years and then decieded I wanted to go for something a little more fun (for me atleast) so I got a coachwhip. Defantly wasn't what you would call docile and kept me on my toes. I kept that for a while and then decieded that I wanted more of a challenged which is when I moved on to the imported rear-fanged snakes that I kept. They were by far the biggest challenge I faced but I really enjoyed it and do plan on getting back into them in the near future!

I also like bitey ones. They are great feeders...

I can certainly understand the allure. Bitey snakes seem more wild, more unpredictable, more exciting. There is something about a snake that can make you bleed more then a red cross volunteer that just demands your respect. Snakes like that can teach you good handling techniques as long as they don't succeed in making you fear them. I particularly remember a pair of huge everglades rat snakes that I used to have that would go after me every time I opened their tubs. They put on a very loud and intimidating show and had the teeth and speed to back it up with. I really liked those snakes, but eventually it got old dealing with the prospect of bleeding every time I changed a water dish so I traded them off for something else. I don't even remember what I traded them for anymore but I'll certainly always remember them. I'm glad I had the privilege of keeping them and learning from them, but I'm just as glad that I no longer have to deal with them anymore.
