    Urgent

I was just handling Furio and I saw a little black groove sticking out of his scales. I wiped it off and it moved around so I'm thinking it was a mite but it was on his spine so I'm wondering what to do next. I'm freakin' out!

Paper towels for substrate and PAM for the enclosure!

yup yup.. and if its too late to run out and get something for the mites you can soak him in warm water to help ease the discomfort and kill off a few of them

I know I need to take everything out and whatnot. He's got some red coming through the black markings too. We didn't notice any around his eyes or anywhere else though... Being that I've never dealt with something like this before I am still concerned on what to do. I will be checking the pet shops for PAM tomorrow... This is very frustrating. Should I still try and feed him tomorrow?

If it's just mites, sure....but what is the 'red' you're talking about??

They're little reddish brown spots. Not bugs but little spots... I don't know if that would have to do with the mites or what... I'm confused and scared all in one at the moment...

Can you post a picture for others more knowledgeable than me? I believe a picture might speak more clearly in this instance.

the red *could* be the blood from the mites.. i know if you squish them they have blood inside them, perhaps thats what it is? or are you talking about something more than a spec or two.

    Re: Urgent

I can't get close enough to him currently he went back in his hide. I am appreciating everyone who has any help they can offer me... I don't think I've been this stressed in a VERY long time... The little red blothces are about 1/4 the size of a penny and almost look like they're supposed to be there except I've never seen anything like it before. He's acting fine and he's been out alot. Hasn't soaked in his dish much and there was nothing in it when I just looked...
