Raising the temps back to normal
Breeders that cool, when do you start to raise temps back to normal? I was planning on Feb 14th, but it is extremely cold in Ohio. There are snow and ice storms. Over what period of time do you raise the temps up, or do you just raise them back to normal all at once? Any help is appriciated... Thanks.

Re: Raising the temps back to normal
Todays the day. I was thinking of waiting until March 1st, instead. It is still really cold outside. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks.

If you are trying to induce breeding, try and go by barometric pressure. Next time its snowing or raining put some pairs together and bet they breed

They are breeding fine. I was under the assumption that it is time to stop night dropping my temps, and raise them all back to summer temps 24/7. Thanks.

Re: Raising the temps back to normal
I just looked at Adam's breeding calendar and he warms up in March, gradually. I won't start breeding till next year but this is the calendar I would follow.

I checked ballpython.ca's site and he said that he warms up on Feb 14. Then I checked Adams site. He said that he warms up on March 1st. I was just wondering if it matters when I warm up. I think that I am going to wait until March 1st. Thanks.

Re: Raising the temps back to normal
Everyone is going to be slightly different based on where in the country you are and how your breeding season is going.
Ie.
If you got off to a slow start you might want to keep them cool longer
If you got an early start (and have seen good signs - ovulation, lots of locks, or they want nothing to do with each other, etc) then warm them up sooner.
Your local weather also plays a part...here in Indiana we are still expecting a couple more fronts so I am keeping them cool longer.
There is no exact science.
Hope this helps.

Re: Raising the temps back to normal
I got locks pretty early, and also was considering raising temps back up soon. This last week everyone started locking up like teenagers again so gunna give it another week or so and just slowly start raising temps back up and figure i will have them completely back to normal by the first week or so in march. Hopefully will keep all my 06 females time to eat like crazy so i can comfortably get everyone to breeding weight and bigger by next season. And has anyone else just realized that the breeding season is year round, not just a short fun event, but actually a long very stressful learning experience. Its great!
Take my advice as nothing more than a first timer that reads alot.
