    new snake owner

    Hey everyone,
I dont really know what this site is all about yet, but I just wanted to get as much information as I can so I can be a good snake parent.
I am having a really hard time right now because I want to hold her so badly, I am so excited to interact with her, but I know it is too soon and she needs to get comfortable. We brought her home three days ago. I was just looking for someone's advice. Did anyone hold their snake too early when they brought it home? Are there really any consequenses to it? I am planning on waiting, I am just having a hard time
    thanks

    Hello.. welcome to BP.net!

It's good that you're waiting to handle her. BPs are quite shy normally (especially when they're younger or settling into a new home) so it's good to give them a good week, then try offering food. If she eats, wait 2 days before you handle her (this is to preven regurgitation.. never handle a snake too soon after it has eaten). if she doesn't eat, you may want to hold off handling until you can get her to eat.
