Peruvian RTB ?s

Guy in my local area has a 6 year old RTB for sale for $150. Asked him some questions and he says he is eating 1 Jumbo Rat or 4 Large Mice monthly.

Shouldn't RTBs be fed weekly same as balls?
From the pics he sent the snake looks to be healthy. I will be going to have a look either tomorrow or the next day.

He says it is Peruvian, what should I look for to verify it's local? Obviously each can vary considerably, just wondering if there are any tell "tail" signs? Believe they are supposed to be darker in color with a distinct black line above the eye?

Also, you don't have to feed adult boas every week. I feed my adult girl one jumbo rat every three weeks (normally feed the babies every week).

Check out the muscle structure and the tail. Boas typically have a more "boxy" appearance that BPs, which appear more round. But a healthy boa will have a nice round fat tail. If the tail is skinny, the snake isn't being fed well.

How about switching from live to f/t? Are boas a little more forgiving as a few sites have mentioned?

A lot of Peruvians tend to have a yellowish tint to their body.. and they tend not to have widow's peaks in the pattern.. the dark markings on their back tend to be rather small; almost reduced.

My adult boas eat a big rat every other to every third week.. babies and juvies eat weekly.

Boas typically are quite easy to switch to f/t.
