*sigh* Being the noob breeder that I am, and this being my first year, I'm totally feeling things out for the first time. I think I may have seen at least one of my girls ovulate. The only thing is she's usually one of those that takes her time making a #2 so she can look pretty fat before she drops a bomb. However I did see her doing what could be considered the "tail suck" and that's not something I normally see. Unfortunately I didn't have the presence of mind to snap a photo of it.

However she seems to have gotten lighter in the last few weeks and almost silvery in natural light, which I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it's some glowing. She locked 5 times since December and is refusing food.

This is her and a male normal photo from November. She's on the left.

This is her the other night with the same male normal for a comparison shot.

Closeup.

Is it wishful thinking? The male is 2050ish grams, she makes him look skinny now.

P.S. The scars on her head and neck were preexisting when I got her and not anything that occurred while in my care.

And since this is already a long post and I might as well make it longer, here is my other girl that has stopped locking up. Her last observed lock was on 1/4. She started hooking up with the males last November

And here she was the other night.

The pic was from a few days before full blue, which she's in right now. I dunno. I'm feeling discouraged at this point, even though I know patience is the name of the game in breeding.
