Depending on the temp of your house they usually gravitate to warmer areas. If you have hard floors you can put some flour or sand on the ground and look for snake tracks as they like to travel at night. I need to finish mine but I am puting a heated hide on the floor under my racks so if I ever get an escapee they will most likely go in the warm hide, basically a 4" PVC with cones on the ends and a flexwatt attached to it and controled by my rack t-stat

computer cam is probably the smartest idea in my opinion, and be very careful when opening doors, windows etc

If he's still in the house, it's gonna be somewhere dark, cramped, and warm.

I've heard to place a cardboard box in a room, then get a dead gerbil and use it to create a scent trail around the edges of the room then to the box.
