Re: When do i know my female is ready to have her litter?
I've only had two females give birth so far and with both I noticed a pattern. First, they will get huge. Then they will stay in their nest almost all the time. Even when I nudge them out of their nest, they return within a few seconds of being out of the nest. They will get even bigger and then pop! You have babies. As soon as she starts favoring her nest be on baby watch.

You just described what happened with the nest! Its not what would call a nest though, she just sorta dug a hole in her bedding in a corner and now shes lieing there, i pushed her into her hide and she went right back to it.

Then she is definatly close is she will follow the same pattern mine do. If she returns to her nest right after leaving then she should deliver within the next 24-48 hours. Both of my females did not even get up for food or water during that 24-48 hour period that I saw.

She will most likely be having them today. Try not to disturb her too much. You will hear squeeks when they are born. It sounds like little birds. (or it dose for rats)

If not today then surely tonight or early tomorrow, maybe even my other one will be ready.

Nothing... she is HUGE though, i'll either get aot of babys, or a little less of big healthy ones soon. If she keeps this up she and my other golfball will have their litters at the same time.
