    cold emergency!!

I'm off work today. Our furnace went down. Got a call at work last night that the house temps were dropping fast. Got home and the temps were in the low 50's. The pythons and some others have their own heat source, but that plays havoc with the cool side of their enclosure. The rat snakes are usually kept at room temp.,(80-84) so I was worried I wouldn't get to them in time. The space heater is too small for a room that lrg. SOOOO, fast dash to set up heat in a smaller room. All herps are now living in our bathroom. Nothing like having an audience when your only wanting a lil privacy. Got it leveled out about 82 degrees. No bath, that is now tort resort. Iwill be investing in larger space heaters. I'm surprised the frogs sang last night considering the move. Maybe they are just that happy to be warm again!

I'm glad that all your animals made it to the Restroom Resort. Good luck getting that furnace fixed. I'd cry if I lost my heat!

    Re: cold emergency!!

The heat is on and everyone settled back in their own homes. It took a couple hours for the house to warm up enough to move them bact to their spots. They all appear well. Scares you silly when something like that happens. Not only the money you have invested, but we are very attached to all them. Kelly cried 2 days when her beta died. Can't wait till spring gets here. I am so tired. Had to sit up last night to keep temps in bathroom regulated. I keep thinking how stress free my life would be with no pets, but I can't imagine life without them.
