A friend's snake; off feed. Advice?

Many of you will remember LaVey, a male BP that I owned. About 6 months ago, my best friend and her husband adopted him from us. Well, he ate f/t like a champ.. up until a month ago. See, I think that he wants to breed. Last year at this time, he was breeding one of my females. he always ate like a champ here.. Now, how do you get a nonbreeding male, who wants to breed, to feed again!? I am at a loss as to what to tell my friend, and her husband is losing sleep about it. I reassured them that a few months off feed even, is not the end of the world. LaVey looks nice and fat still.. no baggy skin, and he sheds like a gem. Any advice?
He is housed well, in a 55g-sized breeder tank. Cypress substrate, identical hides, correct temps. The downside is, though, their house temperatures go down slightly in the winter. Now this is Not into a dangerous range. But I think that it is contributing to his nonfeeding.. he thinks that he's being cooled for breeding, maybe?! What can I tell them to do, short of buying a blowup snake?

    Hi,

Are they intrested in breeding him at all? Do they have any other reptiles (ie would he be a quarantine risk to any of your animals) and do you have any females "going spare" as it were?

Why does he need to eat? Is the snake unhealthy?

He is as healthy as can be.
I thought more about it. I know that my friends' husband is a man of routine. He was feeding a med. rat once a week like clockwork. Methinks that the snake is saying to itself (instinctively of course) "I am full."
I don't have any girls that aren't spoken for.
