A little survey for everyone!!
This isn't really a poll, that would be kind of hard to do. Mostly because of all the possibilities.
Out of curiosity....No matter what reptiles you keep.
What is the thing you dislike, or something you could definitely do without when in comes to keeping herps??
For instance, keeping geckos. I love them dearly, but I absolutely HATE cleaning the crickets bins. It has got to be the most disgusting aspect of it all for me lol. They smell terrible, no matter how often I clean the bins that dead body smell is always there.
As far as snakes go, I hate cleaning up after exploded rats. Thats not too often though, only happened twice.
I understand that we love our reptiles, but does anyone else out there have that one part of herp keeping/breeding that you really could do with out?

Ewwww, I'd hate exploded rats too - glad I feed live!
I hate, hate, hate when two or three of the snakes think it's funny to tip their water bowls EVERY....single.....night!

I hate it when my younger corns poop in their feeding tubs. Nothing like having to move a wiggling poop covered snake. It seems like the young ones always hold onto the poo until after they've eaten.

The sludge in the fish filter... And feeding any reptile that requires a bug diet.

Crickets!!!.....everything about them.
.....and I hate how my monitors only have clean water bowls for about 30 minutes...makes me feel like I am an insufficient keeper when I clean and see something dirty a few minutes later.....if it isn't the soil getting tossed in by the lizards...then it is the damn crickets drowning themselves...I dislike those crickets...

The thing that I could really go without, is cleaning up the blood. Everytime, my big boa girls seen to just pour out the life blood of the rats....weird!

Re: A little survey for everyone!!
Giving a shot to a reptile is definately my least favorite, means they are sick and not happy to get stuck
Escapee rats in the snake room always is a chore too

Wow lol Sounds like I am not the only one with "pet" peeves!!
One of my female cresties, never fails as soon as I put fresh water in she poops in the water dish. Then I clean it again and she leaves it alone. Its under the repti hammock so I think she slides her butt over the edge and drops a present everytime.

Re: A little survey for everyone!!
I agree that escaped rats in the snake room are a pain....crickets are worse though......I think I have an established colony of escaped now feral crickets in my basement...
I also hate the smell when a snake kills but does not eat a rodent...nothing like a bloated stinky rodent in a 83 degree room.....

I had the same problem and it drove me crazy so I bought a 6" pvc tube and cut it into 2" sections that I hot glued to the bottom of all my tubs. I have round tupperware that sit in each section and I haven't had any spilled water since. You can see what I'm talking about in a lot of my pics. I know it's not original but it works.
That was my main pieve, but now it's the insects. Crickets suck and escaped fruit flies aren't fun either.
