How long will you give a stubborn male?

I have 0.2 het pieds and 0.1 visual pied that am was hoping to breed to an 06 male pied. My problem is that the male which has been cooled since october still shows absolutley no intrest. Just sits in the opposite side of the cage. I have tried every trick that I know of and still nothing. We have even had a a couple pretty good low pressure systems come through which usually gets my stubborn males going, but did nothing for this guy. He is my only male in the collection that has not started breeding. He is a little small for his age at about 550g because he will only eat about 1 mouse or ASF a month. I have a 100% het male that is a beast with the ladies but I was really hoping to not have to use him. All three of my females are bowl wrapping and showing good signs, but I can not feel follicles on them yet. I am wondering how long some of you guys with experience would give him to get the idea before breaking down and using the het male? All of the females are 05's and I really don't want to miss my chance with them this season waiting on the male.

i have an '05 male pastel that is doing the same thing. it is really irritating me. like you said, tried all of the tricks and no dice.

I have a 06 male sitting around while his 06 friend is breeding his little butt off.

I wouldn't wait too much longer personally. You can always back up your het male with the pied if he decides to get his act together.

I had a male spider breed for the first time last night after sitting on the opposite side of the cage all season so it could still happen for you! All of the girls I had picked out for him have already been bred to other co-doms but its not too late to try to get some spiders in the mix.

I guess that means Zaphod or Murphy might get a chance with Sierra. Only one lock with Winston, and he's been showing no interest in her since. Now, he loves Pandora. Even put Pandora's fresh shed in with him and Sierra during the cold front we got Wednesday night - no dice.

That's a great idea. Another idea is to put him and his fav girl in with the one you want him to breed. If they are bunched together he won't know which tail he's courting
