i got a question, i dont know if it's a dumb or not but its been on my mind for over 2years. i got a Normal BP, weight is 1500g+. he is always on the cold side of his tank. the temp on that side would be low 70's... everytime i clean his tank, i put him on the warm side, within 2 minutes he is back coiled up on the cold side. the temp on the warm end is 75-80. now, i took him out of the tank and placed him in rack where i know he will get some warmth. half the day he didnt even move out of the position he was in when i laid him down, then that night, he pushed the waterbowl out of his way back to the cold side.

jus curious if they are always on the cold side if it is ok ?! he is fasting right now, but when he isnt he also eats on the cold side... is he normal ?!

Your temps are very cold, probably why he is fasting. 80-84 ambient 90-95 hot spot.

I don't think he is fasting because he is on the cold side he clearly likes the cold side he has for 2 years. This snake just likes the cool side you might want to bump up the warm side to like 90 ish and mayb he will be able to tell the diffrence. I wouldn't worry if he has no sign of aliments.

Are you measuring belly temps or ambient? I know that mine is in a tub and has belly temps of 90-94 on the hot side and 80-85 on the cool side, but the ambient temp right now (winter) is around 75 consistently. If you're measuring ambient (air) temp and reading 80, the belly temp on the warm side may be too hot for her... Try placing the temp probe directly on the surface to see what the surface (belly) temp is...
