My two carpet pythons are currently being treated for RI. Last Thursday when I took them back to the vets I noticed my baby (1 yr) CP had the beginnings of mouth rot. The vet suggested that this was due to her suppressed immune system. Anyway, they're both still on antibiotics but when I went to clean her mouth today (with diluted iodine), the 'black bits' were hard, as if they've scabbed over. I don't know whether the antibiotics are clearing it up and that's why there's no more/very little "goo" or if something else is horribly wrong with her.
Should I keep trying to clean it and risk the chance of opening the wound or leave it and let it heel by itself? (I plan on phoning my vets tomorrow also, but know that they'll just tell me to bring her in rather than offer me advice over the phone...because there's no money in that...)
