They're mostly grown up now, but a few pics of the beginnings of my brood back when they were quite young.









I'm now up to 7 silky bantams, 6 Ameraucanas, 5 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Cochins, 2 Turkens, and have Wyandottes, Brahmas, and Australorps on the way this spring. Oh yeah...they share the Chick'n Shack with 4 obnoxious guinea hens, too.

Judy...I cluck with the best of 'em! Trying to learn to mimic their "distress" signal so I can warn them when they're out foraging...lots of predators here. Can't wait for winter to be over so we can build their run.

Deb, that's a Silkie Bantam. Check out some pics of them here. Silkies are fantastic little birds & extremely popular as far as pet chickens go. Bantam varieties are "micro-chickens" - usually a quarter of the standard breed size.
