Okay...
I decided a while back to switch to plastic tubs. I have a new addition coming this saturday so I've been trying to get his home all ready before he comes.
Im using a 15qt plastic tub, with a UTH on the warm side (Plugged into a thermostat and monitored by the probed Acu-rite thermometer)
To keep the ambient temp up I am using a 60w ceramic heat emitter. My only problem is, I can only get it to stay around 80 degrees. I have the lamp about 3 1/2 inches away from the lid, Im afraid any closer will heat the plastic up too much. I was thinking about using a red bulb but to keep the heat up I need to leave it on all the time, and seeing how this snake is in my room, the red light bothers me at night.
Could I cut out the middle of the plastic lid and put screen in its place? Or should I do something else?
