Heating Concern

Is it bad to leave the zoo med UTH on all the time? I feel like i need to because my tank can't seem to kick up to the 80-90 degree range at all. I have a 250 heat lamp but the temp stays around 73, which is room temp. Please help, thanks.

move to tubs. and build a box for him with heattape and a thermostat. Or if you plan to get more snakes move to tubs and build a rack. That would be one way.

what do you mean tubs? I'm kinda new at the terminology so i need a little help.

Check out THIS caresheet, Your UTH should be "on" all the time pretty much. You should have a thermostat that controls how hot the pad will get. Ideal range for a UTH on the hot side of the tank should be 92-94 with the cool side around 80-84 (ambient temp). Also, a tub is just a Tupperware container, alot of us use them because they are easier to hold temps, humidity and keep clean especially if you have more than 1 snake.
