Technical question?
Ok so I have paired my spider male with a female have been since Thanksgiving well last night I walk in changing water and spot cleaning and I see this

Could this be bowl wrapping due to follicular development or just her feeling like she needed to hug the bowl. In the second pic she has become very defensive VERY defensive. Feeding hasn't slacked off and I have not witnessed any copulations but I have heard that the introduction of males will cause females to start building follicle's. I did palpate her this morning and felt what felt to me to be little pearls in her last 1/2.
Any help from you more experienced breeders would be hot.

This is from ballpython.ca's breedig page.
"When females start to grow follicles their behavior changes. They seek the cooler end of the cage and often wrap themselves around their water bowls. Whether it is too enhance the cold is purely speculative. It is very common and a very good indication of good things to come."

Re: Technical question?
Nope, not too soon. The presence of a male seems to help stimulate follicular development, even in females that are non-receptive to breeding at first. Keep pairing them up!
