    Wanted: Cypress Mulch

    Does anyone know what local stores sell large amounts of cypress mulch in the NYC area? the home depots around my house dont have it. thanks jimmy

    I found that where I live cypress mulch is a seasonal thing...My home Depot and Lowes stop selling it around Sept. and start back selling around March/April...

    We were having the same problem over here. Luckily we emailed a guy that buys by the truckload, so we'll be stopping buy to pick up some bags. Top quality stuff too, milled 3 times.

    upstate NY you can get it at Country Max stores. you can also look for a product called Forest Floor, usually sold in pet stores in 8 quart bags. Its 100% Cypress but will cost you about 3 times what you pay for 3 cubic feet bags of mulch at a Garden center.

    I've also found it to be a seasonal item, back when I used to use cypress mulch I had to plan ahead and lay in a number of bags so I had enough to get me through the winter. Just make sure to let everyone else in the household know what you need it for otherwise your spouse could use it all up on the landscaping.

    Ditto that.

    I quick using cypress in a few racks over the winter and I really miss it. Come spring I'm loading up on the cypress again that stuff is just awesome.
