Environment outside the enclosure....?
So, are there any factors I should look at when placing my enclosure?? I would guess it should be away from flickering lights, right? what else?
Parting is all we know of heaven and all we need of hell.

Re: Environment outside the enclosure....?
I would suggest keeping an eye on the humidity level of the room your setup is in.
The past few days have been especially dry in my area. Even my bedroom, which is quite well climate controlled, has been having a tough time maintaining a comfortable level of humidity.
Any major shifts in the humidity of the room will eventually start to affect the inside of the viv. IE: drying out quicker, or the opposite, in not needing as much misting.

Ya exterior walls, windows, doors are not the best place to put an enclosure. Also you should keep the enclosure at least 14 inches off the ground. enclosure set on the ground lose a huge amount of heat to the floor, and that is weather you have a UTH or not. The rest I think is pretty common sense heavy traffic areas and places that are light all the time. They need some sort of day/night cycle. You are going to have probem with humidity in the winter because that is just how it is. Winter tends to be very dry so extra misting is required. So don't stress on humidity because it will likely be pretty low were ever you put the cage.
