I can only answer on what my girls used, they just laid them on the cage floor and wrapped themselves around the eggs

    Re: Question about Gravid Females

She will lay the eggs wherever she can. If the conditions are not optimal (i.e. we as keepers did not provide dry substrate with proper heat), she will still lay them, even though she probably knows that they will not survive. Being that we keep these animals in captivity, they do not have the opportunity to seek out optimal conditions for egg laying, if we do not provide them to the gravid dame.

    Re: Question about Gravid Females

I have made nests with moss for my snakes but seems like they never use them anyway
They will be fine. Just check them several times a day when you are expecting her to lay. Best of luck!
