Hey guys.

First of all, Merry Christmas to all of you Hope you're enjoying the holidays.

Anyway, I have two questions/problems today.

1. My BP's skin is somewhat wrinkles so I am guessing he is dehydrated. The humidity has been low most of the day. 30-40%. Everytime I mist it, it would be up around 50-60%, but it always drops below 50 at nights for example. I can't wake up and mist every 5 hours to keep it up. What should I do? What can I do? This is weird because keeping humidity high was pretty easy for me earlier. I used to have aspen for bedding, and recently switched to coconut husk which is supposed to hold moisture better. After misting it would jump upto 70% for 20 minutes or so before dropping to the 50-60% zone for 4-5 hours and then below 50%.

Do you think if I use a heat emiting light bulb instead of a red 60 watt one, would that help keep humidity?

Tank info: left side lamp with 60watt light bulb (80-84), right side has the UTHs that keep it at 90-94 degrees. Top and two sides are covered with foam board. Bedding is coconut husk, layer of paper towels, layer of news papers. I have 2 hides, water bowl, and a climbing tree.

2. My BP hadn't eaten for 2 weeks before today. He was actually shedding two weeks ago so I skipped his meal for a week, then he refused to eat last monday. So i retried on saturday and he refused again. I thought the mouse might have been too big so I got him a fuzzy today and he ate it really fast. So I can't understand why would he be intimidated from the mice (which he used to eat prior to refusing). He also had a piece of retained shed stuck on his head, and I finally removed that yesterday (he refused to eat with the skin on his head. Could this be why?)

In brief:

4 weeks ago on monday: adult mouse
3 weeks ago on monday: adult mouse
2 weeks ago on monday: skipped due to shedding
1 week ago on monday: refused an adult mouse (retained shed on his head that I couldn't get off)
last saturday: refused an adult mouse again (still has the skin on his head)
today: ate a fuzzy (without the retained skin)
