I know how to slowly break her in but I was thinking perhaps of not getting a ret as the one I want is a tiger and we all know how there attitudes can be towards new owners. Any advice on hwo to break in ym fiance as I am going back into the military soon sow hen I am deployed I HAVE to know hwo to tech my fiance the important stuff and find soemone else to help her while I am gone. Any advice from current military people or someone that udnerstand what i am saying as half the time I lsoe myself lol.

Don't buy a snake.....tell her to work at the zoo or help out with someone elses larger collection....

Why get a snake when you might not even be there to enjoy caring it? Do you really want to worry about your girl wrestling a 20' snake at home when you are in a different country?

....sounds like a setup for a bad news article....

    Thanks for serving our country

Re: Question to the giant vets for wanting to get giant

I am nto saying I am going to rush out and buy a giant right now or anytime soon lol. I have complete faith in ym girl's ability to handle a large snake once she learns how to. I was just looking for some advice. I know the basic s and how to teach them but I figured I would ask anyone's advice on me being gone for deplyment. And yes I want a snake even if I will nto be there. No reason not to give a perfectly beautiful animal a house that they would be well cared for and loved. I plan on getting a giant probably about 1-3 years from now as I figure in that time my fiance can learn what she truly needs to. I was thinkign fo getting maybe a dwarf ret morph to help break her in or maybe even a burmese but I have yett o read much on burmese temperment honestly so that will be weighed on that. I know it sounds wierd but anything I get to break her into the world of rets I want to have a slightly agressive attitude so she can be ready for a big boy when the time comes.
