Why is my snake so shy?

hey guys, just adopted my second ball python last night, i've had my old one, Zeuse for 4 months now and he eats like a pig and isnt shy at all.

this new one, Athena is over a year and more than twice zeuse's size, but every time i go to pick her up she jerks back in fear, she not mean but gets frightened so easy...she is a nice snake none the less, i wonder if she was abused in her past home?

You have really shy ones, and really confident ones, and those in between. They come in all personalities, just like we do.

The more of these animals you deal with you'll come to understand that they have their own personality's. Some are curious some are shy some are fearful some couldn't care less

thanks guys, just hope she doesnt have feeding problems, btw shes about 1100-1200grams and 3-3.5ft should i be feeding her adult mice or rats?

funny thing is, ive heard of 3000+ gram Bps, this girl is like 1200 grams and 3.5 feet and i was like "OMFG i didnt even kno they got that big" i guess i was just so used to looking at zeuse

I got to see an 8000 gram female.. Looked like a truck tire.

This girl is 3000 grams and the male is 800
