HUGE rant about school (really long!)
Okay, get this! We had a subsitute teacher in one of my classes and I really don't think she should be allowed to teach. Tell me what you think!
I've had problems with this same person before. There's something wrong with her. She told us that we could work in groups to get a studyguide done for an upcoming test. So, I thought that since we're working in groups, it would be cool to talk so maybe it would be possible to compare answers and whatnot. But she yelled at everyone who started talking!
I thought that I would just ignore that... So I talked quieter with the people in my group so I wouldn't make her mad, 'cause I know how crazy she can get. Suddenly though, she started singling me out over the class saying that I was being too loud. I tried to ignore that too because everyone else in the class was yelling about nonsense and I was actually trying to get my work done along with a few other people. The whole hour she kept giving me crap, but despite my temper, I have good self-control so I just got my work done only talking when necessary and even then being as quiet as possible.
Eventually, she lost control of the class and another teacher had to come in to gain back control. After she left, the sub was telling us that for the last few minutes of class, it had better be quiet and that we had to keep our voices down.
So then I turn to the people right next to me and start whispering, so was being REALLY quiet, OBEYING what she told us to do! Even though everyone else was whispering too, she came right up to me and gave me crap about it! She wrote me up for it and filled out a disciplinary referal.
After I left class, tried to make myself feel better about it, so I was kind of joking about it with my friends saying that I was going to have to serve detention for whispering. We all had a good laugh until the next day.
I went back to school the following day to find out that it wasn't just a detention I had gotten... What I was wrote up for was the following:
Being disrespectful to a staff member
Insubordination
Excessive talking
rude/discourteous behavior
All of which adds up to be a four day suspension! So I was being suspended for whispering, which was what I was told to do in the first place! I don't see how I was being disrespectful or rude because the only time I talked to her was when she asked what my name was to write me up! And the excessive talking doesn't make sense because we were in GROUPS of people! And insubordination doesn't make sense either because I did everything she told me to do!
Along with me 7 other people got written up in that class, and including me, a total of 15 people in the whole day! So that's 15 suspensions that were given out in one day! All for talking. Isn't that a little overkill? I understand how little respect that subs get, so they tend to be stricter, but that is just INSANE!
That's not all either! On top of all that, she was calling kids stupid and was saying some racist comments too! A kid in that class is mexican and she asked him if he even knew how to speak english because he supposedly wasn't listening to her (even though he was!).
If you ask me, I think don't think she should be able to teach, and next time I have her as a sub, I'm skipping class!
I'm a pretty good kid and have NEVER gotten in trouble with anyone except for getting one detention for being tardy a bunch of times. But that sub has put two detentions and now a suspension on my record, all of which, I did not deserve. I do have a bad temper, but I NEVER talk back to people who have higher authority than me, and I do as I'm told. No matter how mad I am, I'm pretty good at controlling my temper too, but you have no idea how close to snapping I was when she kept yelling at me.
So go ahead and state your input on this and share similar experiences. I also need advice on how to deal with anger. Anger management classes are out of our budget and My hand is starting to REALLY hurt from beating the crap out of my locker so many times.

Sounds pretty over the top to me.
I'm sure if the parents of 15 students get together with the same story about a kookey teacher having a bad day, then something can get changed.
I've had my experience with those types of teachers....never been suspended tho.
Fight it.

My parents are trying to get people together for this. Even the assistant principal is freaking out. (This does NOT make them look good.)
Luckily we don't have to serve the suspension... The teacher and assistant principal understand how much she was over reacting due to REALLY good students with clean records suddenly getting this. All we had to do is write a paper about what we were accused of doing and to promise we would never do it. But it's going on my record which is what's got me so mad about the whole thing! Hopefully, we'll get her away from teaching.

Yes this is high school.
I've already been told it won't mean anything after I've left high school, but that's not going to be for a few years, and I'm going to have to deal with it until then. My school has a bunch of rejects from other schools that have been expelled for drugs, violence, weapons, etc. so even little things like that are really looked after here (In fact, just this past week 3 people got thrown in jail). And if I get that sub again who knows what I'll end up with, 'cause I don't think I'll be able to just sit there and do nothing as she gives me crap about doing what I was supposed to be doing.
So pretty much, it'll just be harder to get away with things and punishment will be a little stricter if I get accused of doing the same thing. And with my luck, it will happen again.
Trust me, I'll get over it by Monday (possibly tonight). I've already cooled down a LOT! Just ranting and asking people's input
edit: Oh, and I meant to say "file" not "record" Huge difference, sorry
