    Finally

Well I'm just making a silly post to express my happiness that my male Mojave that I aquired in early October is now at the point where he will immediately eat whatever I put before him whether it be live,f/t, rat or mouse. There were some dark hours.

    Re: Finally

He is my first snake so when he was turning down stuff at first I was a little worried. I eventually figured out that he wanted totally white mice and rat pups. Pre scenting for an hour would get him peeking out of his hide and waiting for dinner. Yesterday, as a test I offered him a 2nd f/t rat pup and he took it as fast as the 1st one. I also bought a baby female spider a couple of weeks ago. I am feeding her live mice which is all she has ever had. She is so small that it takes her a while to subdue the mouse. When she is a little bigger I will try to vary her menu also. I never expect to have huge numbers of snakes (but you never know) so I would like to get them to eat whatever I give them. I have seen where other posters have said that their snakes will do that. For somebody feeding a large number of snakes it would be another ballgame entirely.

Hey dale, are you interested breeding your animals down the road or just keeping some killer snakes captive Either way your off to a good start.

Judging by your posts I can definitely see your interest is growing fast in this hobby. I'd say be very careful b/c in a year you could have a room full..HA

Thats what happen to me anyway. I started out wanting just a pair of het albinos and het pieds, but that quickly changed and I got more and interested. After my first year really getting into bp's I had about 50 animals.

    Re: Finally

I'm just playing it by ear right now Larry but things could easily end up that way for me also. At this point I just plan to raise up the two that I have but if people start advertising bp's in the spring that I cant pass up I might be ordering a 2nd rack. The more that I look the more different morphs are growing on me.I am just doing this for enjoyment and I can maybe see myself producing a well planned clutch or two eventually just for the experience of doing it but I would not want to get so involved that it becomes a lot of work. But like they say "Never say never".

Congrats! I'm at once happy for you, and envious. I only hope I and Salzedo can aspire to reach the plateau you've proven does indeed exist. (He is a Mojo too!)
