    i brought home my bp today

    i got my bp today and i have some questions about their usuall behavior in a new place.i would have though he would go hide right away but hes just trying to escape through the top is this normal?also he usually eats tomorrow and i was wondering if i should offer her food tomorrow? thanks

    It's normal for them to explore a new enclosure initially. If he's still doing this in a couple of days, then I would start with the basics - make sure your enclosure is small enough, that the hides are tight (he can just barely squeeze himself in them), that you're measuring temps with a digital thermometer at ground level for most accurate readings, and that you are providing a proper temp gradian (80-84 on the cool side, 90-94 on the warm side - no night drops).

    I would not feed him tomorrow. One week without food will not hurt him in the least. Give him a full week to acclimate to his new home (that means no holding him either during that week - you'll have 30 years ahead of you to hold him).

    ok. ill give him a week before i do anything but change the water.i guess i better get some pics while he is out.i have 3 digital thermos and 1 digi ands 1 analog hygro in it.thanks

    here is a pic of him.he has settled down somewhat.still hasnt tried to use his hides yet the pic is a little blurry because of the reflection of my beardies tank across the room
