    kane thermostat?

    http://www.dogcatetc.com/010kmc-hmt.html

has anyone ever heard of this? It seems like its a pretty nice thermostat. Theres only one not very helpful review on it though. I have a reptitemp 500 that i dont like at all. the temperature fluctuates widly ( almost 20 degrees! ) when the ambient temperature dosent, you have to watch it like a hawk, and before the real cold hits i want to get Aspen a new thermostat, but 130 is just a hefty price tag for a helix. i cant find any other reviews on it.

i'd just like to know anything, good or bad about this thing before i'd attempt to even purchase it. worst comes to worst i squander away for a helix or something but this product even LOOKS better than what im currently using. ( as in it has degree temperatures on it and not just a turny knob )

Well i dont know anything about that one, but i did check the price and it was like 56 bucks. If you are willing to spend that i would spend the extra 15 bucks and order a Ranco or a Johnson. You can check out reptile basics.com that is were i got mine, they are cheaper than say a helix and work just as well especially for what you are doing. Many people use either of those, maybe someone else could validate this?

    Re: kane thermostat?

im browsing the forums right now through the search feature, but which one would you recommend since theyre identical in price? The johnson or the ranco. ( i'll continue looking through the threads ) but from what ive seen its Johnson with the better favor.

    Re: kane thermostat?

I have a ranco, just what i picked up they have the same features which ever you like. I also have a herpstat which ran just about as much as the helix and since i dont use all of the features it was a waste of money. I know that both products are tried and true in the herp world so its a toss up in my opinion. But you cant beat the price on them!
