Well, Chipotle is back. Some months back, Mark rescued this rooster from a "breeder" (more like "producer..) in Buffalo who was running a rooster-fighting operation. Mark brought him home, and he hung around for a few days before preferring to spend time out in the trees in back. We had not seen him for months, and all of a sudden now he has started staying in the barn. I guess that the onset of cold weather, and the chicken feed/cracked corn we spread around (for our two standard roosters) lured him back.
He spends the nights up in the rafter (about 12 feet up!) and I snapepd a pic.. he is definately a bantam rooster (smaller than normal) but I am having trouble finding out just what type. I am told that the fighters breed this specific kind, and they are not found anywhere else really.. still digging for info though. He is about 1/2 the size of our '"typical" roosters, one being a Plymouth rock.
