whats the best hide to use i want something that looks natural. i saw zilla had the these rock dens. how are they and are half logs really uncomfortable for balls because thats what im using now and he seems ok.

I think the best to use is round bowls for example with a small hole in the top, flipped upside down. I use the exo terra cave hide. I think half logs let in too much view and the bp could get stressed easier.

The smoother the hide the easier to keep clean. Usually the natural looking ones have crevices and whatnot and make it harder to keep clean. it depends what you want, looks or practible. When i started i bought cool natural looking hides. now i get bowls from the 99 cents store and make a hole. For what i paid for 1 I get 8 now. Snakes don't seem to care.

The ExoTerra rock cave is the best! Smooth for the most part and easy to clean, plus comes in sizes that accommodate a BP through it's whole life. For younger snakes, I like the 'Den and Dine' plastic stump hides. Still very easy to clean and totally dark inside for max security.

Any empty bowl from the refridgerator, after it's been through the dishwasher and had a hole cut in the lid, filled with damp sphagnum moss.

i like upside down terra cotta pots. just use a screw driver and hammer to chip the hole in the bottom big enough for him to crawl through. be sure to sand it smooth when your done. good mix between easy cleaning and not-a-plastic-bowl look haha

These are also great for adding humidity! When the snake goes into shed, you can dunk the hide in water, let it soak for a bit, then put it back into the cage. Guaranteed humidity, and a great shed!

I also like the exo terra caves. realistic look and easy to clean. I've shopped around and gotten some on ebay and purchased more through reptilesupply.com.
