same thing happened to me. try putting some cork board on the sides and back to add some insulation. also is the top completly a screen? you will want to cover up 3/4 of the top screen with some aluminum foil and tape to keep in the heat and humidity.

even with that mine was still too low. ended up having to switch things up a bit from the standard set up. i put a ceramic heat emmiter over the cool side to bump it up the last degrees into the 80's

I have the same problem. I can keep the warm side around 90. I use a 60W sun glo bulb over the cool side to keep it in the low 80's and for viewing.

Your talking about the temps in your 32qt rack..right?...You might have to get the ambiet room temp up a bit...buy an oil filled electric heater (like $30 bucks at Home Depot,Lowes or Wally World)
I keep my snake room temp at 82 all year round....

Nah, It really doesn't matter what type of heater, I would suggest using a Ranco thermostat to regualte it. I wouldn't trust the ones that are on the unit itself...

Re: temp on cool side wont get hot

I picked up an oil based heater at target for 50$... I keep the room thermostat at 65 and the electric heater at 68... this gives me enough heat to keep all of my cool sides above 77... I use the thermostat on the heater itself but since i keep it so low it does the trick... If thats the only source your using you might wanna play with it and see where it needs to be set at... Might be higher might be lower.

I got the Ranco because it was highly recommended on here and I have it set to 1 degree difference. I also have the accurite temp control and I have the probes right beside each other on top of the glass but under a half inch of cypress mulch. My uth side will be anywhere from 86 to 92? I am very dissapointed in one of them I just don't know which?
