hi guys n gals. Since u were all soooo helpful last night re: Abby's great adventure into my Piano..i thought I'd ask another, less urgent (thankfully!) question.
We've had Abby for 2 yrs now. She came to us eating live mice. We tried to switch her over to thawed..she wanted NOTHING to do with them. Tried dangling etc etc..NOTHING worked..so we went back to live and all has been great..until the past 2 mths. For some reason she isn't doing well at all. She went from eating sometimes 3-5 adult mice per week (sometimes more even)..to 2 in the past 2 mths. She's just not interested in eating. What's up with that? She's always been a GREAT eater. I do know that BPs sometimes go off their food during winter months..but she didn't the last 2 winters..why would she start now? She's 3 yrs old (and again, we're ASSUMING she's a she)
So far she seems to be maintaining weight..her last shed a few weeks ago was great and complete (she's NEVER had any shedding issues..they always peel off as 1 whole sock) She seems ok behaviour wise..basks on her tree branch etc etc. Everything is the same except for her lack of desire to eat. I should add that last week I put a mouse in her tank..and the stupid mouse went right up to her, oblivious to her even being there i think, and was nose to nose with her. It scared her..she scurried back into her hut and wouldn't come out...24 hrs later the mouse was still alive and well. Could this has traumatized her?
What should i do? At what point should I be concerned about her not eating?
Lisa
