    Humidifier Questions???

    Hey guys...
I'm about to buy a humidifier for my snake room...its not a big room, maybe 6 feet deep by 15 feet wide...I have about 40% humidity now, I am looking to bump it up to around 50-60% to help my big girls with shedding in their ARS open air racks..
I'm just wondering what everyone else uses to keep the humidity up in their rooms?....
    I am looking at:

I have the Kenmore units ... some of them are over 10 years old and work great!

I'm using the kenmore too Adam, but the cost of the filters gets kinda high...

    You tried any ultrasonic humidifiers?

Nope, never tried the ultrasonics ... the filters are a pain, but I look at them like paper for tubs or deli cups for water ... just the cost of doing business. I started buying them in bulk a couple of years ago, so that helps with the $$$$.

I have both ... they didn't make the 14 gallon units when I started out ... We fill them every day (m-f) before we leave for the day ... they're not ever empty, but it's just one of those daily chores so we don't ever forget ... like filling rat water buckets.

    Re: Humidifier Questions???

ultra sonic humidifiers work well. They have cold, heated, and models with both options. The use of the heated humidity is probably not what you need as that is mostly for medicinal purposes. The cold ultra sonic should do the job. You can buy a fairly inexspensive one from different places. LIke Bed Bath and Beyond, walmart, meijers. The thing about ultra sonic, is you do have to clean it once in a while because they can become a breeding ground for bacteria. They should sell solutions for them with the humifiers. At least we did at BB&B. I was thinking about picking one up for this winter as well, but we decided to stick with mulch instead. (I think we decided that anways )
