Call me crazy, but that part *might* have had something to do with it. Some snakes could care less what's going on around them while they eat, however, most of the time, once the food is in the tub, I've found it better to leave them completely alone until they're cruising around, lookin for more.

That is excellent that he is eating now. I suggest sticking to either mice or rats, since they are imprint feeders and you don't want to mess him up.
