I'm trying to think of an efficient way to vacuum pack my mice and rats. I've seen these food savers that seal off the entire end...and I even bought one only to find out the bags aren't re-usable. The foodsaver melts the top and you have to cut the bag to use it.

So I was watching TV the other day and I saw this commercial...and it's a little vacuum that you attach to a bag and suck all the air out. I'm pretty certain the bags are re-usable....so what makes this really cool? You can open it, grab a few of your feeders, close it back up and then vacuum pack it again without losing any of your bag. I think i'm gonna venture out and try to buy one this weekend.

wow! according to that site the thing only costs $10!!! Even if its a piece of junk I'd say its worth trying. I'm definately gonna pick one of these up.

I bought one tonight...9.99 plus I also bought an extra thing of large bags for only 3 bucks.

My foodsaver (which i've only used once) was around the 30 dollar range.


I haven't tested this Reynold's thing out yet, but I will update this thread.

Sounds nifty We had a Foodsaver but it never worked right and we didn't like the un-resealable aspect of it. I enjoyed having fun by vac-sealing up a small marshmallow Peep beanie baby-type stuffed animal; it was hysterical!

yeah we have a place called Publix down here in Orlando. It was in the same section as all of the sandwich bags and such.

If you use the foodsaver you need to get the roll of bags where you cut your own size. I put 1 weeks feeding in one bag and if some are in shed then I just take what I need out, cut some of the bag and reseal. If you get the sized bags you cant reseal but the rolls have no problems.

Seems a lot more efficient and cheaper to buy this sealer and open up a bag of feeders every week, pull out how many you need, seal it back up and suck the air out.

How much does a roll of that stuff cost?

You could use a space bag! Those are reusable, but huge for your uses.

A roll was less than $10, I believe its quart size (the width anyways, since you can make it as long as you want). Ive made about 10 bags so far and maybe used 1/4 of the roll if that.
