Help!!

i have had a BP since this summer and have been through serval feedings without a problem and try to play with him regulary

a couple nights ago we were cleaning out his tank and he bit my dad and has been so jumpy and tense i cant get the lid off without him freaking out on me

he is sheading but its not comming off like it should.

id realy like to avoide being bitten if possible

is this normal??? please help

You're best bet is to remain as calm as possible. Have you changed something in his enclosure or routine?

You're best bet for getting the retained shed off, is to soak him. You can also try using a damp pillowcase (although I have never used this particular method) and leaving him in in his enclosure.

Bad sheds happen to everyone, and are not a life threatening situation. You are likely to trigger a bite just from being jumpy and nervous. You need to make sure you are in a calm state of mind, and just do it. If you get bit, then you get bit. As I tell my kids, anything with teeth can bite and they've bitten me worse than any pet I've ever owned.
