    small rats

How would you compare a small rat to an adult mouse. Like is it a lot bigger stronger...or are they about the same

I think rats generally are a little more feisty...

Mass wise they are about twice as big as normal adult mouse(19-25g) and a small rat being around (40-55g)

To me what I call small rats are 4 weeks old 45/65 grams with teeth that do not break the skin.

Now what are called rat pups are the same size than an adult mice and cannot break the skin either.

Adult mice on the other hand are about 30 grams and their teeth can definitely break the skin.

Small rats are definetly bigger than adult mice by quite a bit, i remember when i switched my snake over i didn't think it was going to be able to handle the small rat, but i under estimated it. he took it down like a champ.

    Re: small rats

I like looking at rodentpro.com when it comes to feeder sizes. They have pretty much the same info as the link Joanna gave you, but they also have pictures so you get a better idea of the size.

I think the small rat probably is "stronger" than the adult mouse simply because it is bigger, but I would trust what Deborah said about their teeth, so it sounds like it would be less likely to injure your snake.
